In the season, we see a lot of raining on the Earth, but it is rare to see the raining on the planet other than our earth. Today, the NASA scientists spotted the Fresh rainfall on the Titan, which is the moon of the Saturn. NASA’s Cassini spacecraft which was orbiting the Saturn and has spotted the freshly fallen rain on the Titan. The spots of the rain reflected from the sky, and they were fresh. In the lifespan of over 12 years, the Cassini spotted lots of lakes and the streams with the hydrocarbons. But this patch of the freshly fallen rain is of the great importance. The patch of the storm is nearly 43,330 miles wide, which is way more significant than the surface area of biggest lakes on our planet.
The rain was of the methane, and it evaporated pretty quickly in the environment of the Titan. The patch of the rain was visible for a few moments only, and later it was evaporated. According to the scientists, the rainfall suggests the arrival of the Summer on the Titan. The summer arrived late on the Satellite of the Saturn that expected timeframe.
The photo that we are talking about is taken back in 2017 before the Cassini plunged into the thick atmosphere of the Saturn as it was low-on-fuel. The famous Death Dive was done to ensure not to contaminate the Satellites of the Saturn and also study the atmosphere of the planet. The photo is taken a long ago, and the scientists have completed the study of all the data related to this picture, it is confirmed that these are the spots of freshly fallen Methane rain. The spacecraft used the optical and infrared sensors to capture the image before saying a final goodbye to the Ground control station.
